So lately ive noticed that my car decides to go where it wants. Since im new to mustang i just wanted to know if this is a common problem or just my luck that the rack is going bad. Either way it will be fixed and hopefully without and further issues.

Defiantly not normal.... Start with an alignment, they will tell you whats loose. You may be lucky and just need the alignment.

My car had a similar problem and when I went to get it aligned it ended up being the tie rods

Check inner and outer tie rods for play. When they have play, or just very weak it tends to make the car ver to any which direction it wants depending on the surface of the road. Check the suspension forum on here, there is a few threads about it. But yeah 90% of it is inner and outer tie rods that connect to the power steering rack.

Or maybe your rag joint is bad. Its on your steering shaft. I'm curious to what size front tire you have. Mustangs with wide front tires have the tendency to pull left and right in the ruts in the road. GL with getting her fixed.

I was having the same issue, check your tire pressure first. Mine were all 8 pounds low. After correcting the pressures it still follows grooves but nowhere near as badly, start with the basics FIRST.

could also be bad rear control arm bushings, mine are shot due to many hard launches and shifts with my 315s.

Check out my link in suspension. I needed ball joints, new bushings tie rod ends and a new rack. All that's left is fix the steering wheel from 7-2 to 9-3 and reset the camber. Even with the two issues, it drives real nice straight down the road now.

Mine does it to but i just need an alignment im pretty sure. If your cars lowered try bumpsteer kits and stuff but as said a million times id get an alignment before i started replacing things why replace something that doesnt need it yet.

It's really easy. There's like 2 or 3 bolts to remove and you gotta paint it is all. It's collapsible which makes it a lot easier.

start simple and check the air pressure in the tires first. Then you can move onto bigger problems that could be wrong.

I've gone over the whole thing and all that's left to check is between the steering wheel and the rack
