Stock rims

I really like the look of my stock rims. Can I run 275/40/r17 Mickey Thompson et street radials with these rims?

Definitely pushing it on the 8" rim. Spec for that size would be 9"-11" wide rims.

Agreed the Largest tire i would run on a 8" is a 255/45 (street tire) Ford actually offered it i think in 94-95 on the Cobra 17x8 rims in that size.

Agreed also the Nitto D/R runs very small for some reason. Even the 315/35 i had on a 17x10.5 looked almost identical and was only 1" or so smaller then a 275/40 on the 17x9 rim. The tire on the 17x9 03 machined cobra was a stock goodyear tire that was offered.

i found a set of 03 cobra rims local are they any wider?

Well the 03-04 Cobra rims came in Machined and Chrome. Also in 03 They had a 10th Anniversary rim also that was available. Some people mistake the 01 Cobra Polished wheels for 03-04. The 03-04 rims in all 3 finishes are 17x9 with a standard size of 275/40

That's a good deal even if they are the Machined 03 Cobra's. I would snag them up!

The MT ET street suggest a 9" minimum width so you should be good.
