storing in winter- tires off floor..

As summer starts heading into fall after next month I was wondering how many people or 'If' it is good idea to jack car up and get weight off the tires over winter? I know it is for long term but for just the winter months? I currently have floor covered on a one car stall with 3/8 inch rubber that the car sits on daily.

I see no problem with it but definitely don't engage the any part of the drivetrain due to that pinion angle, even if it is an IRS car because the halfshafts are also at full droop and it's hard on joints.

Keeping the car lifted will keep the bearings from pushing out grease and the tires from getting flat spots.

winters in my area dont last long NOV-FEB and some of the days are nice 40s -70s
and the cars are in a building
but if i did live out in the cold as hell area then ya i would

I live in lower WI. from Oct- April most likely not be driven... 6 months +/-

ya.. salt is out by Nov..All depends on first snow. could be Nov..Or could be Jan. Either way mustang conv is just for warm weather.

Salt is nasty on under carriage for sure. To bad they waste the salt there. bummer

I have my S550 in the garage over the winter here in Texas and it just sits on the tires. Granted, the weather here flucates badly. But I don't drive it in the winter. The SN95 New Edge, sits outside. I don't worry about flat spotting tires on either. They say the new compounds don't really do that.

But I do have both on trickle chargers.

My car sits outside year round. Not driven from about Dec first to end of March. Air up the tires to about 40 psi and charge battery every week or so. Occasionally have to move it a few feet or so to clear snow.
No issues with tire flat spots.
