Hey guys does anyone know if a 94-95 strut tower brace will work on a 96-04?

I have a 2000 and i'm getting one for free from a friend, im not sure if it will bolt up right at the firewall.

Anyone know?

thanks

it wont work perfectly for a few reasons.

first off, you will have to drill holes for the mounting locations on the strut towers, and for the firewall you gotta come up with another way of doing it since the factory mounting locations disappeared in 1998. (the factory one mounts with 2 bolts going vertically into a tab thingy that stuck out of the firewall. 1998 and newer mustangs dont have this).

the other issue you will have is the way the bar that goes from one side to the other goes. might not clear or it might hit something. if its a friend of yours, test fit it and see if it hits anything.

well i jsut saw in a picture of it it still has a flat piece at the firewall with 2 dimples in it. So if it fits good im gonna jsut drill two hoels there into the firewall and then t the shock towers. i test fit it before and i believe it cleared everything. so we'll see and ill post pics when and if i get it done in the next week or so

might need some anchor nuts in the strut tower behind the strut wall. in a little bit of time those screws bolts etc will vibrate and oval the hole out. then forced to go bigger til that thing wont work at all.

dang if you were paying for it ide say its too much hassle, but since its free its worth a shot, just make sure the holes you drill dont ruin the structural integrity of the brace, with enough flex it could break something.

well my friend and I installed it yesterday.

Went pretty easily, although we went through 3 drills and a couple trips to lowes to get washers. i think it turned out pretty good. Made a hell of a difference too, I was amazed...and for free i can't beat it :dancing6:

again this is a 94 GT stock strut tower brace on a 2000 GT

thats the factory tube... since its a 94-95 brace it's meant to clear the 5.0 intake, idk if the design of the brace changed for the 96-97 cars though.
