Stupid High Pitch Noise

I thought the cam synchronizer was just a sensor, not sure how it could make noise?

To rule out the belt. You squirt water in the grooves of one of the pulleys with a spray bottle. If it goes away could be a worn belt.

I am racking my brain and not remembering a cam synchronizer. I mean the cam is synchronized because of the timing gears...no?

It looks like a 3.8l. They have cam synchro's that look like a distributor cut in half. You can take cam synch out and lube it. This will buy you a little time if it isn't wore to bad and has alot of slack. You will need to mark it so that it goes back exactly the way it come out.
