Well my HCI is done and she sounds great. I am running 14 degrees BTDC on a stock bottom end, ford racing x303 heads, e cam, and performer intake. Once I got the timing set I went to run over to a friends house and half way there when I would push the clutch in the engine would die. Once there we reset the idle and it was purring like a sewing machine. When I went to leave it did it again, so I bumper the idle up to 900 rpms and made it home with out any problems. Do you guys have any suggestions to get my idle right(750 rpms)????

ps I checked all of my vac lines and they are in good shape.

It's quite possible you won't be able to get your idle that stable without a tune. I'd say drive the car for a while and let it learn the setup a little bit and see how it's acting. I remember after doing mine it got a lot better with just some driving.

I have to call and find out when Tony at HP performance has an opening, his shop is about 6-8 miles from my house.

Oh and I forgot to mention that I have eliminated the egr valve and plugged it's vac line

I usually keep my idle a little higher with H/C/I setups.

Mine is around 900 regularly.

did you reset your base idle or just turn the screw? Car should idle just fine w/ that cam. I had a b cammed motor and everyone always said "that car will never idle right blah blah blah..." That car would idle 700 all day long never miss a beat.

Not sure to be honest, he connected his laptop to my computer and placed the chip in another device to burn the final program

Ah ok, i just wondered if he had messed with the idle stop and air screw or any other miracle cure. :)
