Im looking to purchase an inexpensive off road h-pipe for my 95 GT. My question is which one between a summit or UPR is an easier install (because the summit is a two piece)? Also the car came with an aftermarket catted h-pipe so when i switch to the off-road h pipe, will i have to eliminate my smog pump? Im not quite sure how all that works. Any info on either of these products would be a huge help!

If your car has an aftermarket catted h-pipe, there is little benefit to switching to an offroad pipe. The only significant change is that the car will be louder. Aftermarket high-flow cats are much better than the factory pipe, and do not hinder exhaust flow much more than an offroad pipe will.

That said, if you are set on doing it - the two piece pipes are typically easier to install because they allow some "flexibility" in the fitment so you can tweak it to fit just right. In the end, the power will be the same.

Paul.

Well that does answer one of my questions and of course im doing just to be louder! So does an aftermarket midpipe change anything with the smog pump?

shouldn't have to eliminate the smog pump...I know the o/r h and x pipes I've done still had the provisions for the smog tube to hook up.

Yep, most x-pipes still have a tube that you can re-attach the air pump line to. Nothing should change.

On my 95 GT, I removed all of my cats. I still have my stock H-pipe and headers. It really made mine louder! I also have the smog pump delete on it. It didn't change anything.

As far as the install the single piece h-pipe isn't that hard it will take longer to jack it up off the ground and put it on stands. There will be one more place for a exhaust leak on the two piece. But on the other hand you might get it to fit on the collector better without any leaks.Whichever you wont both will be louder both aren't that hard to install, and you don't have to eliminate your smog pump. :headbang:

I have found it MUCH easier to install a 2 piece. Like previously said you can tweak it to install it much easier if need be.
