t-5 won't on in gear with engine running, but will when engine off.

My trans won't go in gear with the car engine running but will with the engine off. Its a king cobra clutch from dynamic racing, I will never shop there again. I didn't give a 500 mile break in. I recently replace the pilot bearing, throwout bearing, clutch fork, and bearing retainer. I noticed that the clutch pedal is so much heavy then before. I would of give it a good break in bout I know to many people who like to race.

And you're getting mad at Dynamic racing? They HAVE break in periods for a reason, to get everything to fit together or "break in". My brother didn't follow my clutch's break in period when he owned my car and he warped the flywheel causing clutch chatter, it has gotten better with my driving though. But Im with Steven, Check clutch cable before blaming clutch though.

yeah it took half a month to get the damn thing. dynamic had it on back order and never said anything.

The clutch cable is a adjustable bbk. I only put about 500 mile on the my rebuild. the pedal was felt fine the day before. When I was taking it my shop the bolt a walked off the thread on the cable. So I put it in gear just to get it up the street to the my shop. So I can replace my fork and retainer and throwout. after the process was done I got a loud squeal and when I tried to put it in gear the car moved forward. I'm new in business got two years out of auto school, still learning.

^^ Exactly. My Grantelli(biggest POS on the market) actually SHREDDED apart and the clutch cable was frayed on both ends. OEM Ford is the weigh to go, my car felt like a million bucks after I went to OEM. Change out cables, you'll be amazed.

Haven't found anything but FRPP and ford factory cables that are worth a damn. You'd be wise to swap it out.

Actually, it is about the feel of the pedal. The final adjustment for any clutch is the clutch pedal free play.

OP, does the clutch pedal have any free play (Does it have any "slack" before it actually starts to disengage the clutch)?

Going by the book, yes. Going by experience, no. My car's pedal was great, right free plat and right amount of tension, but the cable itself frayed apart and was losing tension after about 50km of driving, if not less.

The feel of the pedal is only half of it. If the clutch does not engauge and disengauge correctly, what good is pedal feel.

Lol...because the pedal feel is the final adjustment. Meaning that if there is no freeplay, the clutch will not fully engage. If there is too much freeplay, the clutch will not fully disengage.

The pedal would shake, when I was trying to adjustment the cable at a point of where the cable got tight the free play would go away. It wouldn't go in gear, so I would loosen it up and it would go in gear but have free play. So I coming to the conclusion my clutch, pressure plate is shot. everything else is replace throwout bearing, plot bearing, bearing retainer, and clutch fork. All that is new and still won't go in gear. So I'm going towards the clutch and pressure being shot.
