T45 or AODE to 4R70W covnersion

has anyone done a 4R70W conversion to their AODE equipped car? or their T45 cars? In a 96-98 Car.....

What needs to be done? Computer wise and transmission harness wise...?

You will need the computer I know that much. Not a whole lot of info on the internet. I think there is also transmission wiring harness. Best bet is to find an auto stang same year as yours and buy as much of the transmission stuff from it as you can. I also think there is a difference in the length of the driveshaft.

i do believe that the 96-98 mustang has the 4r70w. The 94-95 i think is the aode... i think. Good luck, since i'm trying to swap to a t-45

94-95 = AODE
96-04 up = 4R70W/4R75W (later)

You do need an auto PCM - if you have a 94-95 with an AODE, you need a tune for the 4R70W because the gear ratios are different. If you are going from an auto to a manual, you either need to get a manual computer or a tune to shut off the auto tranny functions.

The AODE is basically a crappier old version 4r70w, with close ratio gear's/

The T45 is a manual five speed, only available in 96-99 car's.

The AODE was in 94-95 car's. The manual versions were T5's.

4R70W internals will fit in the AODE case, or you can even use the 4R70W case. Pretty much anything from AOD-4R75W can be mixed/matched.

charleston. Not to sure if it will fit or not, i know my tuner won't work on pre 98 cars due to something in the tune. I'll have the whole get up though out and ready to go in about a month. Swapping in my PI motor and 5 speed
