Ok, just getting ready to buy this car and the guy told me that the interior lights did not work because of a module that controlled them had gone bad and that everytime the module was reconnected it drained the battery down, so the dome, and map lights don't work. As he drove away I noticed the tail lights did not work.

The TURN and BRAKE lights came on, but the normal rear running lights DID NOT! So I am trying to figure out whats wrong with the car, and what would need to be fixed/replaced.

Anybody got a clue? I am electronically dumb!!!

Thanks,
Jared

checked the fuses yet? i dont remember there being any module that controls the taillights/dome lights, but i could be wrong. is it the parking lights that dont work (the ones that are on when you turn on the lights) or the brake lights/turn signals that dont work?

According to the guy I bought the car from yesterday he said that at the same time the running tails went out the interior lights went out. He did mention the remote start did not work anymore because they unhooked the module it was connected to because it kept draining the battery.

As of last night all the lights worked again, so it looks like a hit and miss problem, I hate electronics for reasons just like this.

ok, next time the lights decide to stop working, find out exactly which lights dont work. as soon as something stops working, test every light you have.

i had a situation similar to this, the right side turn signal and brake lamp didnt work from time to time, turned out to be the turn signal mechanism that had gone bad
