getting around 15mpg on the hwy
recent maintenance:
1. MAF clean
2. TB clean
3. IAC clean
4. upper plenum I/M gasket
5. EGR base gasket
6. TB base gasket
7. IAC base gasket
8. vaccum line from under plenum to small cylinder on passenger side with electrical connection that then exits that cylinder and goes into the firewall
under the passenger side hood hinge
It ran great for a couple of days, really thought that I had fixed this issue b/c of the vaccum leak. The line that I replaced that went under the upper plenum was very dry rotted and cracked. I also found that the EGR valve was not properly connected to the tube that runs to the header primary.
On another note, the EGR valve base gasket appeard to have been blown??? I have never seen this before.
The idle is much better than it was, but I am still having an issue where the car does not want to idle while warming up. Also a STRONG gasoline smell at all times.
Mods are in my sig on the 94.
not sure what to do, I am leaning toward a faulty EGR valve since it helps the engine come to temperature and my idleing issue seems to be during the transition from open loop to closed loop???
