Terrible ride quality

KYB Quad shocks
Tokico shocks
Eibach lowering springs

STOCK everything else.


It does just fine on normal stuff.. but when I hit a bump evenly with both tires there is a loud *THUD* and the car tries to compress your spine.

Is there anyway to soften this up.. or any issues I should check for?

Replace your struts...I replaced mine and it changes the ride quality more than rear shocks would. Soo..
Checklist:
Struts
Spring Isolators
and do you have CC plates? I'm pretty sure you need them eibach spring

BUMP STOP! shave it. in the rear right above the rear end. you bottoming out on that and getting hard rebound from it. my guess anyway.

the bump stop is huge, black and held in place with three bolts. easy to remove. you can shave yours (what i did) or get a more low profile one.

i would agree with both. if the jarring is coming more from the front end, replace the struts. if it's more so from the back end, it's the bumpstop.

Like said above, it's a combination of the bumpstop, bad shocks, and the fact that eibach sportlines(what i'm assuming you have) don't ride too well.

Actually, I have to disagree. I have the Eibach sportlines on my car and the car rides better/firmer than stock. I am also not having the thudding issue......I would change out the front struts. Chances are that if they are OEM they are now blown. While you are at it, get the camber castor plates....They will help with the alignment angles.

If you had the stockers in there I can see why....I replaced the shocks, struts, springs, isos, and added the camber castor plates at the same time. I love the look and feel.

mmmm mine seems level......at least it looks level. I am looking forward to getting the steeda stuff in!

Mine weren't level either Tony :/ They sat lower in the back for some reason... Ah well. If he likes the look of em i'm sure some shocks would help out.

My car sits level ? .. Oh well, I'm not surprised with your guy's stories though. My Cobra on H and R's sits higher in the front than in the back lol.

I already have Tokico adjustables up front, with CC plates.

I'm going to look into this bump stop thing!

i suggest at least looking at your front struts.... they may be blown.
replace teh OEM bump stop with a MM prothyne one (it's super soft).
make sure whatever struts/shocks you get match your spring rates. (any suspension company can help you with this)
make sure you have bump-stops in the front if you have aftermarket struts (maybe the previous owner put in defferent struts?)
Bilstiens have internal bump stops, but the OEM units (and simular) have externa ones molded into the dust-cover for the strut.


is it the front, or rear, that you think is giving you issues?

It's the back that's doing it.

I'm almost certain it's the bump stop. It's factory, and beat to shit LOL.

I am the previous owner!! I'm going to check out my front suspension too now that you guys have me thinking about it.
