My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2009. At the point when the cancer was discovered it was assumed that he already had cancer for quite some time. My dad was a very strong man, he never missed work! It didn't matter how sick he may have been. So the doctor's had assumed that he possibly had the cancer as early as 2006. The Doctor's tried everything possible to save his life, then to prolong it. Once he was told there was nothing else that could be done, he was given 3-6 months to live... He passed away on March 25 2011. :crybaby2: Not a day since March 25th have I not thought about my dad or been able to hold back a tear. :crybaby2:

My dad was never a presumptuous person who felt the need to show off! he had several 60's era Mustang's which is where I developed my love for the Pony car! But being the man that he was putting family always ahead of himself, he never kept his beloved Pony cars long, it was always something, some reason why he always had to get rid of them. :dontknow: So it came as no surprise when in early 2000 he was finally able to consider himself financially stable, he went to a Dodge dealership and got on a waiting list  for the soon to be released PtCruiser (yup they had a waiting list.) :confused1: A few months later he went and picked up his NEW 2001 Chrysler Pt Cruiser Limited Edition. It was his pride and joy! Not once until he fell ill did I ever see the car dirty, even during the winter months! the car was left to me and it now has 77.000 miles and a few small issues that need to be addressed, since it became neglected when my dad stopped driving. I have been slowly taking care of all the little things that go wrong on a car that is 10 years old! and have added a few items that I know my dad would have liked on his beloved cruiser!

I know it's not much too look at! or a stang I just wanted to share...

Thats a tough story man...sorry to hear that, but I'm glad you have something to cherish and remember your dad by.

What does that blue and black flag stand for? I've seen that on cars before.

The Thin Blue Line is a symbol in use in the United States to show support for law enforcement officers. It is used by current, former/retired, soon to be sworn in Law enforcement officers.

The Blue represents the officer and the courage they find deep inside when faced with insurmountable odds.

The Black background was designed as a constant reminder of our fallen brother and sister officers.

The Line, the line is what cops protect, the barrier between anarchy and a civilized society, between order and chaos, between respect for decency and lawlessness.

Together they symbolize the camaraderie law enforcement officers all share, a brotherhood like no other.

The PT is a great car as far as its utility, its size, fuel economy its all good. Few things we see with them are the lower control arm bushings will fail and hang down, the timing belts/water pumps can be costly and they are an interference motor, and a few other small things, good news though, rear brakes will last easy 100k.

sorry for your loss, never heard of or noticed the blue/black sticker before, pretty interesting. Pretty cool that you will be hanging on to the car in your pop's memory, should make for a nice car as others have mentioned.

That is a sad story. I hope the best for you and your family through this great time of anguish and sorrow. I also hope that your Dad is greatly happy where ever his is.

Sorry to hear about that, PT cruisers are deff not my in my good books but if my dad had a vehicle that he loved that much I would love it as well if I was in your situation, no matter what kind of car it was. Your Dad sounded like a great guy. Keep your head up!

Not my kind of car either! I don't like them as a car and wouldn't buy one for myself, but this one I trully love because of the story behind it and because I have a little piece of my dad to keep with me..
