The Dreaded Driveshaft Rub

Its an issue that has plagued both sn95s ive owned... I've heard of a few people having no problems but some are unlucky like me and have this problem to address.

So, my car was rubbing, so i grinded away the ebrake bracket but it didnt quite do the trick. I tried fabbing a new bracket and throwin that on with no further success.
Ive moved my cables around to keep them from rubbing but it is still the location of the actual ebrake bracket itself that is causing me grief.

I now have an aluminum driveshaft that has been sitting in my garage for a few months now. Knowing that it is slightly larger in diameter than the stock on, I feel that this is not something I can just "live with".

There must be somebody out there that has thought of someway of fixing this problem.
I like my ride height where it is, and if anything I want to go lower.
I've seen some cars on this site that are "sacked", and I'm wondering if these members have found a solution.

the answer is the upper control arm bushings.... replace the arms and the mounting bushings on the top of the diff that the arms bolt through.

I had to use rubber clamps that screw into the body to hold the e-brake up.

Done that as well. I'm about ready to rip the whole thing out... but thats pretty mickey mouse...

Your drive shaft I assume is rusted. Look for the spots where you see some scraping/rubbing.

I have located these spots already. It is definetly rubbing on the bracket itself and not anything else.
The driveshaft has just recently been sent out to be blasted, balanced and recoated, so the contact is very evident.

its a pinion angle issue.... You did the arms AND the mounting ears? And it didnt fix it?

driveshaft is almost near straight, the pinion angle is very minimal. and yes, i did the arms and mounting ears less than 2000km ago and it still does not fix the problem. It has new FRPP UCA and LCA...

Your motor mounts could be worn out also. Causing the motor to sit lower thus causing the trans tail shaft to sit higher.
While your under there you may as well ck out the trans mount too.
IDK Usually it's the uca/lca's

I also trimmed the e-brake cable bracket flush and spot welded it in more places. I also beat the damn thing with a hammer until it fully cleared. Dont give up and rip it out. Its nice to have our useless e-brakes that don't hold the car worth a damn

Motor mounts were done just a month back as well as the tranny mount.
Ive just been informed that sometimes, some poly urethane tranny mounts come a little thicker than stock thus raising the tranny a little bit.
goin to check on that today..
