No I didn't even waste my time on the cobra saleen clone. I searched his posts on corral and there were lots of problems going on, that's why he was trying to sell it.

It did look nice though.

idk y some one would want to boost a strocked stock block. you make enought power to split the block with just boost and stock block.

Guess it just depends on if you wanted to stay n/a or go boosted.

How much do you guys think it would cost to completely build a 5.0, just engine wise?
Starting with a boss block as a base. Forged internals. and HCI?

that was all new parts, btw, you can save a lot by getting used.

also, forgot you'll need new injectors, maf, a tune, 255 pump, and some other parts i can't think of right now.

Yeah I would be better off buying one already built. But the problem is, that most that are done have stock blocks in them.

Re: Looking at a built 95! Come in

do you really need more than 500 hp on a street car? i can't remember, but i thought you were looking for a street car. I was thinking of doing a non-stock block build, but decided that i might as well spend money elsewhere since i dont need anything more than 450hp. more than that and you'll have traction issues without building the suspension a lot.

you could also go 351w, they are a lot stronger stock...

i never think its enough, but right now i think my power is enough. now i'll be working on suspension and making her look good!

its your decision, i was just making a comment of my experience. of course if you want to roll with the z06's and vipers and such, make as much power as u can and get a non-stock block!

Re: Looking at a built 95! Come in

See, the reason why I'm interested in this car is because it would be more than enough power for me for now. Giving me enough time to save for a better block. And it already looks really good.
How hard would it be to just buy a dart/boss block and swap everything on the stock block now over to the newer block?

Re: Looking at a built 95! Come in

you'll have to check with him, and make sure he has papers for proof, of what kind of set up he has, the internals could all be forged or cast, if cast you'll need forged for over 500 hp. that does sound like a good idea though!

sometimes i wish i had bought my car already somewhat done lol, mine was stock.

It's never just as simple as switching the blocks. Your better off just holding out and looking for a car that has a Forged block and pay another grand up front.

The block is really that shitty? To just crack not even boosted?
I don't think its transmission whine, its hard to tell.

^ I know I seen that. So crazy...

No, It's not. Though i wouldn't boost that motor. It's not built for it. It IS near the "typical" failure thresh hold of the stock block i believe. I've never heard stroking a stock block referred as a "ticking time bomb". Neat.

I think it's a pretty sweet car as she sits. If you think you would be happy with it like that then i think it's a keeper. Boost? How fast/how much HP is the fastest car you've ever driven? 500 HP is no joke.

+1. Just another one that can't drive. Also, that didn't seem like a 500hp car to me in the vid.

Do it i don't think you will be disappointed. Get it shipped out here :)
+1. I like this one if you really want to build. It's nice and clean and rather untouched. Fly out, where ever it is and drive it back.
