This is the Poonstang. She's a 04 V6 vert. While she looks pretty darn good right now, ive got some plans to make her even more btchin'. The first thing I did was trim the antenna. I measured the height I wanted, and then I cut it off. Some people will put on a ball of epoxy to make it look stock. After it dried i painted it black (guaranteed to add at LEAST 5hp) and put it back on. but thats all pretty self explanatory. My first mod with some actual skill needed (I just say that to make my self feel better) was to add in a garage door opener switch.
You'll need wire strippers, a solderer, wire cutters and a drill of some sort (We used a drill press) First youll need to pull apart your opener and find the switch. Measure out your length of wire needed and strip one end. Using the solder, tin the ends of the wire. this will provide better contact and make it easier to solder if your switch was as small as mine. Then just solder to the switch.
Now, the next step is all up to you. this isnt necessary, I just did it to keep the remote safe. Trim the case to fit the wires on each side and then run the wire out a side hole.
Next, you'll want to drill a hole for your switch. MAKE SURE IT IS A MOMENTARY SWITCH so it will work. Mark your spot and srill away. I used a drill press and drilled a pilot hole first to make it easier.
Now is also the time to learn from my mistakes. Drill FROM THE BACK. Other wise youll end up with...
Trimmed up..
Then install your switch and solder it in.
I ran my wiring over the top back of the glove box, up under and through the bottom of where the center console starts on the passenger side and up from behind. This allows for easy battery changes.
Next just install it and you've got a sweet garage door opener (adds at LEAST 12-15hp) Also works like the old Mazda comercials; tell chicks its nitrous and when they press it just slam the gas and act like your trying to turn it off
There will be MUCH more with this build to come: exhaust, exterior, minor engine work and some btch'n diy stuff!
