my gt has turned into a not so friendly street car and next month im putting 13 lbs of boost through it so it will definitely be just a weekend car, so i was thinking about getting a v6 car, put some power to it and have it be my daily driver

now before i ask anything i should let ya'll know that i absolutely know nothing about v6's

so on with the question, if i do get a 6er; what would i have to do to get like 350 horse or what not out of it ?

can i just do some porting on the head and intake, slap a supercharger on it and call it a day ? what all does it take to do it ?

i dont wanna get into doing a complete engine build or running crazy boost like 20 psi or something

really depends on what you want...you can get a singleport and throw an m90 on it real cheap and a lot of low end torque around town...probally run 14s.

You could buy a 94-98 and do a split port, maybe a cam, an throw an m112 on it if you want a little more balls.

i'm with justin, a roots blower would wake it up and make it a whole lot more fun.

i really just want a good strong running 6er for an everyday car, nothing that will be taken to the track or anything; i already have a car for that

and what is this single port and split port, whats the difference in them, what would be the best and easiest route ?

the car would be a 94-98, is there a difference with the motors in the years ?

basically 94-98 is single port, 99-04 is split port

single port stock makes like 150 hp and is a real turd

But an m90 will bolt on and will make a shit load of torque down low and should be able to run around a stock GT

You should look into it cause im not all that sure....but I believe the m112 bolts on also and they can be had fairly cheap.

Bolt one of them on, throw a decent cam in it

Again, I dont really know what you want, but 350 hp is a lot for a v6.

Without a blower the thing will go nowhere just so you know

if you get a singleport a nice m90 swap and an 8.8" tranny and some drivetrain and suspension and youd have a super badass dd.
for splitport get a vortech v2 or a procharger

Yes, the M90 swap would be great. Don't swap the supercharger and plumbing on to the stock single ports motor, swap the entire motor. Justin is right about it being a 14 second car with the stock 7.5 rearend. Depends on how far you want to go with the V6. You can get into the 12's with less than 350hp with the V6. I have heard that long-tube headers, and a full exhaust+pulley will get you around 75 more horsepower for the M90 V6.

Certain years of the M90 thunderbird had 210hp-233hp. With the above mentioned 75hp you would be getting 308 ricer math horsepower from 233hp. Also the M112 is extremely expensive and the split port does not have forged internals like the thunderbirds motor. Therefore the M112 would probably not last as long.

Weight reduction, gears, full exhaust, pulley, and a ported blower would make the M90 one mean, streetable v6 mustang.

you tend to see alot of m90 3.8's popping head gaskets. keep that in mind

i have a built six right now and im throwing even more power at it... the 94-98 V6 stock internals are rated to about 350 HP, the block about 700. Currently i have 42% UDPs, full flowmaster exhaust, Stage 2 upper intake, ported TB, and a CAI, Engine wise. other than that, i have 4.10s and a t5 swap. Going on the car in the spring is a 212/218 cam, ported heads, and an m90 s/c. With those mods and some fine tuning, im trying to get 300+ HP. Good luck with the build though, if you do it.

how much did that all cost, i just want a good running car for everyday, nothing thats going to be ran at the track, and i can get the heads and intake ported for basically free so i dont need to worry about what that would cost, i really dont need to have 350 hp, id be happy with just a 300 hp motor

heres a breakdown of hat i spent...

CAI - $50 Used
Flowmasters - $400 used and installed
Ported TB and Intake - $350
42% UDPs - $200 new
4.10S - $500 Installed
M90 - Roughly the full kit can be had for $400 - $500
Cam - $310 Brand new.
Ported Heads - $250

So in total a little over $2500, but if you install it yourself, you save a lot.

O and got my car for 1200 bucks so the car with all the changes had cost me about what blue book value on the car is.
