I i have been thinking of changing the look of my car for a while. I have been contemplating on trying the plasti dip on my car. A buddy bought the starter kit, and he is doing his fox in matte black. Well i am looking at doing mine in blue, more of a azure to a grabber blue and doing super snake stripes on it.

Basically just like this car with silver fr500s. and either silver stripe to match the wheels of give it the sinister look with matte black with matching black tail light and spoiler bezels.

I want everyone's honest opinion on this.

I too figured I'd change the look of my car. Well I didn't. But my speaker system in my garage did. So it went ahead and fell off the fridge and put a nice dent in my quarter right above the side scoop. So theres my appearance change for the day......

But in your case the plastidip would eliminate most car care you would need to do to keep it clean lol. I say go for it. If you don't like it you can remove it. It would be a pain in the ass I'm sure but it can still be done

are there issues with your black paint allen? trust me i feel ya if there is. even though i'm not known for my paint correction skills i do have some, lolol. especially with black. to me your car needs to be shiney black. like it's the only color that makes it what it is. low sinister black sn95!!

if yoy have some issues simply due to age and weather lemme know...i went through this with mine when t was black and i completely turned it around to look great being black. if not and ya just want something different i would never plastidip a beautiful clean black mustang, lol.

Stripes are .... meh. I am indifferent to them, but personally, I wouldn't put them on there if that was my car.

No, I don't care for stripes on these cars and your car looks great as it is. Just my opinion :)

IMO, no. Car looks perfect as is.

But I'd me interested in the plasti dip. Whats the cost like for a full vehicle? How do you apply it to a whole vehicle? Hows the durability? Does it stand up to cold temperature? Maybe i could do it to a winter beater

waiting for Whiplash to see this...

I tried it on my car last summer and it looked like crap after 3 months. Peeled it off. By the way it doesn't come off that easily... so do that on a warm day and have Goo-gone laying around.

Why's everyone hate on stripes. I really like stripes on our years. Also I'm not familiar with plastidip but a guy at my school did some of his trim and wheels on his truck and it doesn't look that great imo

Sorta, the clear coat on the passenger fender on top has been getting pretty thin an you can see a bit. Other wise when I replaced the hood and bumpers they are a little, no much but a little darker and it just bugs me since I am the who sees it. No one else notices it unless I tell them where to look. It's just a bug I have that's all paint is pretty good shape aside from that.

i think that would help some what tie things together that is all.

I think it would make it look unfinished. Like every two color Honda around here.
yea that was my only complaint. I want to see it in to make a judgement. But some cars I saw looked pretty sweet....

Thanks you for the thought. I love black cars I love how they capture the land scape in photo shoots. Black is my favorite car color midnight or a bright blue comes second just though I woul see how it would look.

Coming for you I feel like my car is on another playing field. Thanks means a lot

so far they have tested it in the cold and it seems to be ok.... But it would be just a summer thing if I do it. It's about 150 or so for the dip in a paint can. And would use an electric sprayer.

I find it hard to beat the look of a clean black Mustang with silver wheels.
I agree I hated taking them off when I put my winter wheels doesn't look as clean. Maybe that is why I have the itch.

I might just do silver stripes and get rid of the pin stripe.
