Hey guys, I cant figure out what wrong... I put on gt40x heads, gt40 intake, and a fox throttle body swap.... and I have read that some other guys had the same problem.... my butterfly in the T.B. only opens like a quarter of the way. so do I have the wrong cable or somthing, any info would be greatly appreciated.

My car: 95 gt 5 speed
summit 70mm throttle body
87-93 throttle cable from 5.0 resto

Thanks again!

Well is it the TB or the cable? Can you manually open the TB all the way with your hand while it is on the car? Looks like the same exact cable and bracket I had on my fox TB setup. Sounds to me like the cable is binding up for some reason or is kinked somewhere.

Check the other end of the cable where it attaches to the gas pedal. Do you have a bunch of slack?

ya the tb opens all the way by hand... The first pic is how I "rigged" up the cable now...the cable isnt in the bracket how it should be, it pulled back... and it works better... but I just checked the gas pedal end and I think there may be some extra slack... The second pic is when the pedal is at rest, so is it suposed to hang out that far? and if it isnt, wich I suspect how could I fix it? and thankyou again guys!!!

You can take up that slack with a nylon tube with a slot cut in it. It's a common mod. Glad you got it figured out.

So how much slack should be in it? if any?... Thanks for the suggestion... I probably never would have figured it out since I was only messing with the throttle body end... Thanks again Paul

May 1/16th of an inch. You want it to go all the way open but you don't want it hang the TB open when your foot isn't on the pedal. Just get creative with it man. I don't know why you're is like that...that is wierd. Mine worked like a champ

Cool... so not much, But as for why so much slack, it just seems to be the way my luck has been with this hole heads/intake swap, nothing has really gone smooth, and if it did, it didnt for too long...lol :dunno:
But thanks guys for the info!!!
