hey guys i just wanted to ask all of you two small questions. first of all whats the widest tire i can put in the front of my 98 gt coupe? i wanted to do 18x9 bullits and run either a 255 0r 265 in front and hopefully drop it about 1.25 to 1.5 but i drove a v6 Sn95 with 265 and it was dropped and it rubbed like hell will the same happen to me? and second if i don't do the typical pi head swap, would i still make decent power gains if i just polish my npi heads and run say a comp cam, and run a pi intake? i want to know the the difficulty level and cost of it compared to the full pi swap, and yeah i know about the two very good write ups on npi vs pi, but they don't answer my particular question. any advice is welcome thanks

first off, i have no experience with the pi swap yet. but i still have an opinion. lol if your willing to polish npi heads then that means removing them, right? well why not buy the pi heads and put comp cams in them and swap those heads in and have the pi intake bolt on perfectly without messing with rvt. but then again, i don't know.

umm well your tire thing i dont think the deep dish on the front looks to good but its your call my bud did it on his 97gt and it rubbed too
and the pi heads? you can fix the heads you have but the thing is with the pi swap it raises compression and makes more power then just port and polish and when you put cams and a good tune you'll make around 300hp but its all in how much $ and time you have ether way it will be nice

actually i wasn't gonna go with deep dish in the front, just the rear i want to go with 18x9 front and 18x 10 in the rear. i just wanted to know what size wit fit perfect out in front. and as for the swap, what if i just stuck with my npi heads and got them polished, with the pi intake bolt right on? or would i have to modify?

you would have to rtv a hole in ur npi heads for a pi intake. unless you got the livernois intake which is a direct bolt on pi intake for npi heads (no rtv mod or anything) but it's $500

You can get a 275 on the front with no rubbing if you use 03/04 Cobra control arms, or, do like I did, and don't turn the wheel so far.

haha, I have 275s and just dont turn the wheel all the way.

I think 245-255 is as big as you can go without rubbing on the front.

Well, it's actually the wheel, not the tire, that rub's. Of course, the tire size you pic, determines the wheel size.

i got 255/45 Kumho supra's on a 17X9 Cobra 95 R rim and Mine doesn't rub. If you went much larger i don't think it would look all that good ... just me tough
