Just picked up 10.5's w/beat Nitto Drag Radials - 315/35/17's - for my 97 Vert. Considering replacing w/Nitto Extreme Performance non Drag radials. Car is not lowered. Will I have any rubbing issues with this size? Have heard some do, some don't. Looking for non drag radials. Other than the Sumitomas, anyone have any other recommendations for tires / sizes? Thanks

I run 285/50/17s on my 10.5" rears. You can run 315/35/17 with no fitment issues at all! Here is a pic of mine with smaller 285s

Jebus I want a 50 sidewall! I run 17x10.5 deep dish bullits on mine out back and am deleting the ABS soon and would LOVE some tires that would actually hook up and not make my teeth rattle over every bump lol. What did you have to do to run the 50s? What brand tire is that... I ran 295 wide BFGs on a 10.5 wide tire a few years ago and the sidewall BARELY came out past the rim lip.

Anyway back on topic, I run the Nitto 555s on mine right meow. Same 315/35/17 size and they fit fine, are actually a little too narrow for the 10.5 because Nittos run ridiculously narrow. Nittos are known for this though, a 335 Nitto would probably fit best on a 10.5 wide.

330CubeGT - Those look good. Why did you go with the 285's vs 315's - any reason other than preference? What are those 285's (make)?

To the others that replied, if I stick with the 315/35/17's, which is my preference now that I know fitment shouldn't be an issue, anything other than Nitto 555 and Sumitomas for the 175-225 range i can consider? Again, not wanting the DRs. Thanks

I still want to know what brand these are and if any mods required to get them in there. Would love a 50 sidewall and a look like that.

I'd say steer clear of the regular Nitto 555's, I think they're overpriced and they always seem to dryrot so fast. I would do the 315/35-17 size though.

Any other suggestions for tires for 315/35/17's - besides nitto and sumis? Price range - up to $250/tire? I drive her as a 2nd car - maybe 4k miles / yr. Thanks.

I am a Nitto fan. Personally my favorite tire (for a street tire) from them is the NT05. I ran them on my cobra and now they are on my Gt and love them.

I switched from the 555s, to the 555Rs, and then the nt05s when they came out. nt05s survived just as long as the 555s and have better traction. with 0 issues in rain.

Continential extreme contacts, they hook up decent and I would compare to a Nitto 555.

So just toss them on and go eh? Im surprised those 285s fit as well as they do on a 10.5 wide. My Nitto 315s barely fit but those are a 35 sidewall and Nittos run narrow like I said.

So I finally got around to putting these on today - long story, but I have @1/8 inch or better clearance to the quad shocks. This enough?
