I was rolling down a hill in a traffic jam so I put my car in neutral.
My car was making a bad noise like clunking.
My stick was pulsing with the clunk.

I pushed my clutch in with no luck then I put it in gear and the noise went away.
Any Ideas?
Its a 96 with only gears and exhaust.

I should of noted that when I put it in gear I kept the clutch depressed.
I talked with a guy today who said it might be the output shaft gettin loose.

My old t45 made that noise also, kinda sounded like it was rattling around in neutral. I changed to gm synchromesh, and it helped some.... It eventually died though.

Yep that could also be it. Anything in the rotating driveline really. It goes away when you put a load on it, so that narrows it right down. I would check the U joints first, they are common and it's easy to eliminate.

Thanks guys.
I think I will pull the car off the road early and take it apart checking the ujoints first.
Anything I can do to that trans so it will last a long time as far as rebuild?
Or a good substitute.

If it comes to that I recomend you go straight to either a Tremec tko 500, or T56. I've been through 3 T-45's, they never could hold up. I know it's alot to swallow, but you'll be money ahead in the long run.
