transmission?

I bought my 97 gt a few years ago.
The other day it was on the lift. The trasmission looked very clean
and it said TREMEC on it. Did the previous owner change the tranny
on the car or is that the stock one? Is tremec a good tranny?
how much hp can it take?

The stock T45 was built by Borg-Warner, which was later purchased by Tremec. So, you may have a later case if it was changed at one time.

Or you may just have the later 3650. Does it have an integral bellhousing?

On the 3650 used in the newer car's, the bellhousing is also the front cover of the trans, so you would pull the entire thing as a unit, rather than dropping the trans, then the bell like a normal manual.
