tremec T5 speed sensor??

I just installed a tremec T5 into my 95 gt. Went smoothly .....


Now the only thing is that I got it all buttoned up, took it down the road and before I hit third the speedo was pegged all the way around!??????? I took out the speed sensor on the tremec and the sensor out of the Borg transmission to compare them. The tremec's sensor seems to be electrical pickup, whereas the borg is mechanical with a gear. The mechanical sensor will not go into the tremec.

What is needed to correct this?? I will take pics if needed but im sure this has been covered somewhere.......
