That was a great thread idea but too many questions... 140 was in (87) and as early as 1982 SSP's ! Convertible not offered on Cobras... 79 Cobra was well before a 93 Cobra. Just for information SN95's are also foxbodys which originally was from the Audi fox platform. D

I don't think SN95s are technically Foxes though. Fox was 79-93, then the SN95 took over for 94-04. yeah they all share the same platform but the SN95 is not a fox body.

they are. the same platform was used from 79-04.

Same platform, different engines(for the most part), body panels, suspension and interior. Thats like saying a 2004 Silverado is the same as (I think) a 1977 Silverado because they use the same chassis style. The SN95/New Edge/Fox body all use the same platform, but use different things and different panels to make them look different. The S197 is the modified Lincoln LS chassis, but we don't call it the same thing as a Lincoln LS. Same goes for the 71-73 stangs.

sure they are. theyre built on the FOX platform. its not like they use a "similar" platform, they use the EXACT platform that all the foxes were built on. Ford didnt change chassis designs until 05. all mustangs from 79-04 are built on the same frame design. just cuz they have different body panels and different drivetrains doesnt mean theyre not the same platform.
