Typical power loss issues?

Hi all. I wanted to stop by and ask about the well known decline in power issues, in the 94-95 Mustangs. I have a 94 GT and I know the power is not what it should be. It was the same way in another car I used to have, and a buddy of mine had the issue before he sold his car. Its not terrible, but you can tell the car doesn't have the power that it should. I've talked to a lot of people, and I'm sure many of you here have had this issue or experienced this.

I have done a full tune up. New air filter, fuel filter, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and even new O2 sensors. I also cleaned the MAF sensor with MAF sensor cleaner from a spray can. Didn't even put a dent in the problem, the car still runs the same as before. It has 168k miles on it, but it is in great condition other than this engine issue. I've worked hard to keep the car tip top condition, but now I've finally got to tackle this power loss issue. There is also the occasional engine jiggle that you can feel, even with the AC off. There is no check engine light. That occasional jiggle makes me think it has a random misfire. Could be where I should start looking for some of the power loss.

I was hoping that someone here was familiar enough with these cars to know what to check, to find this seemingly common issue.

The coil and ignition module are known weak points in that era.

A few things to check

timing
vacuum leaks
motor and trans mounts
compression test
leakdown test

Don't buy an MSD coil for it. They're junk. Do a fuel pressure test too, an auto parts store should have the equipment free to borrow.

Have you tried taking some times to confirm that its down on power? I ask because a 94 gt in stock form is not all that fast by today standards.

I was thinking that it could just be age. Old worn out cylinder heads and the like. The car does have 168k miles. But what I'm looking for here, is a list of things to check out. Hopefully this weekend I will be able to check out the things that have been suggested in this thread. Fuel pressure and such.
