I upgraded to russel braided lines but I have a leak at the first fitting. I am new to these so forgive the stupid questions. Do I need to use a teflon tape or something on the lines where they are threaded? I can't get my wrench down there to tighten it up anymore.....

What kind of fitting is it? if its an -an fitting, then no, you dont use teflon tape. If its a npt fitting, then yes you need to.

can't figure it out then, I think I have a bad fitting? I took the end off and the rubber was back maybe 1/16" from the end so I tightened it back up and then put the end in making sure that it was seated correctly. I leaks on the top part of the straight hose end, inbetween the red and the blue fitting(where you put it together at). the other fittings that I put together seem to be ok, just this one..

is it possible to have a leaky fitting? As I said these are new to me, I am an electronice guy not a mechanical...

now just by chance if I had my lines swapped(intake/return) would it do this? I am 95% sure I have these right but still not completely sure about what I am doing.

hey twista, great fail man!

I switched them for an-6 fittings.

:angel4: I was being serious. I hate anything that deals with fuel now. I would have a fire extinguisher near by.

the assembly lube makes putting the fuel lines into the fittings easier and the sealant is used where your attaching the AN fittings to your rails or regulator. Neither is a necessity but they do help. You may just not be getting the line in correctly and have a barb or something keeping it from bottoming out in the fitting. Its a pressure fitting so if it isnt seated correctly it will always leak.

so I don't need teflon tape? just seems wierd since it says with that stuff you don't need it. Makes it sound like one thing or the other is needed.

You have me a bit confusedon exactly where the leak is. Is it leaking from the hose or is it leaking from the connection of the two fittings? You can use the sealant from your above post or teflon paste where the AN fittings connnect to the rails and regulator. The hose end to fitting dosent require anything. the lube from your above post is to ease in putting the hose into the fitting.

it appears to be comming out from between the two pieces, or just above it and I can't tell. I think I might have torn the hose a little twisting it on and I am going to cut a small piece off and try to reseat it. Unfortunatly I am in the hospital at the moment and would love to run out and take the 20 mins to try it and see if it works.

Also been sorting out a cam and roller rockers for my trickflow heads...
