Im not sure....it could definately be the long tubes...it sounds like its coming from the front below the passenger side.

That would be my guess. The exhausts leaks that I"ve heard sound to be more of a fluttering/tapping noise than the tinging you're talking about though. :dunno:

I have the exact same sound under the exact same conditions. Only thing I can come up with is an exhaust leak as well. When I had my valve covers off to do my cams everything looked ok to me, and the noise didnt change at all with the new cams installed. I'm going to be putting PI heads on in like the next month, I'll let you know if I find anything interesting in the process that may be causing this noise. Let me know if you learn anything new.

are yall sure you dont have a slight detonation goin on. the car would be under load and RPMs would be luggin. try a higher grade gas then test again. that could be symptoms of a slight pingin/knockin from lean conditions

Sounds like that to me, they really don't like to get lugged down like that, they are little motors.

ehh.. I dont think thats it..I run 93 octane all the time.

I guess I could throw on the stock tune and see if it changes.

did you adjust any of the parameters of the performance tune? like advancing timing, leanin out fuel? you dotn need to go back to stock, just richen the mix a little and try again.

Could be carbon buildup in your motor also. Seafoam your car and see if that helps.

I had a custom tune done..didnt mess with anything.

He advanced timing and changed the fuel tables.

I will try some seafoam.

Then it may be that exhaust leak, valvetrain noises are constant and increase with rpm, but they only go half engine rpm.
