VSS question

so heres my problem. My spedometer sometimes wont work, but if i give it a good tap it cuts back on. My cruise control doesnt work and my abs light is on. i read that if your abs light and your cruise control dont work then its the VSS that hooks up to your transmission. i replace the sensor, but it didnt fix anything. could it be the sensor located on the wheel? i remember when i took the sensor on the tranny off it had a gear on it so i just simply put that gear on the new sensor but still have the problems. what do you guys think that it could be? o and my mileage gauge doesnt move now since i put the new sensor on. what could be the problem? and help would be greatly appreciated thanks

What Codes are the computer throwing? You really need to hook an OBDII scanner up to the car and pull the code information. If you do not own one, Autozone will pull them for free and give you a printout explaining what the code means. It might not give you a quick answer, but it will lead you in the right direction.
