So my water pump is leaking and I am getting ready to change it. I was scrolling around through LMR earlier and saw the stock gates water pump for my 97 gt and than I saw the Edelbrock water pump. Obviously I know that the name is making it cost more. But it does have bigger fins to move coolant around. my question is, is anyone using this pump on their car? and if so how is it?

I cant see why a bigger name product could out perform the stock. If it were me, id go back with stock. If you need more flow at the bottom rpm look for a truck water pump. If you need more flow at 7k rpm, go with a cobra. Or just keep a stock replacement, cause its by far adequate enough.

how does the truck pump flow more at lower rpm's? was the design different on the trucks pump?

The stock replacement is good. They improved the stock version on the 99+ Cobra.
I have a Stewart pump that I got for a great price but if I had to replace my pump right now I would just get a Motorcraft replacement that will last another decade.
