Weight under LH front fender/ Bumper

hey yall,

i just tried to re-connect my DRL. as i got under the car to locate the black box for re-connecting, i found a thick, round weight hanging underneath the black box. but its just on the drivers side. does anybody knoiw what its good for???

It's stop cowl shake on 'vert's. You're talking about a pretty big weight you wouldn't want dropped on your head right?

Stops teh windsheild from shaking around since the roof is a structural member on these car's and when they cut it off they weakened it. I never had a vert, so I have no idea if you can take it off.

hmmm wonder if it can stop a hood from shaking while going down a road... i got into a bump up and they worked on my car and replaced the hood with a super light weight h.o. fibertrends hood, it shakes while going down the road and it scares the shit outa me. wonder if they took the weight off... where is again? on the drivers side? Close to the front of rear b/c i have no idea what a DRL is.

Driver's side, if you lay down and look up behind the bumper cover you'll see it chilling there on the actual bumper support.

I ended up using hood pins with my aftermarket hood. I didn't like seeing the shake.

I've heard of lots of people taking them off for weight reduction on the front end...not any complaints about the results either...give it a try & see for yourself...good luck. It is easy to remove but you will have to search for details.

I've also heard alot of guys taking it off. Haven't heard anything negative about it being off either.

My buddy has a vert, well had a vert he passed. But one day we were looking at something and saw it, I was like WTF? Random chunk of metal that say's 30lbs on it, lol.
