It?s not a splitter, it?s an airdam. It will just guide the air around it, and create downforce by making a negative pressure behind it. To have a truly effective splitter or airdam, it has to be low to the ground, and the one I?m planning on building is probably going to have a 3 inch ground clearance. I will simply use a garden separating plastic shield, and wrap it all the way around right back to the wheels, and reinforce it a bit at the top with sheet metal. I will lave the bottom bendable, because I still want to flex when it will hit driveways, speedbumps, or anything else it might encounter. I?m doing it, because the combination of airdam and Griggs spoiler will be a mild, yet an effective way to get the downforce without slowing the car down. Once the situation calls for it, I will step up to a more serious setup.
If you want a race built splitter, your best bet is with G-Stream piece. It's designed by Paul Brown, same guy who manages Tiger Racing, so you know it?s good and functional.
