I'm thinking if the Yellow Top can't be brought back to life i will get a cheap one from somewhere. When i drive it a few times a week the batteries last a long time but when i let them sit i kill them....

I club baby batteries!

you need to remember even if you dont drive your car there are still accesories pulling power from it like your clock and stereo they a constant power source hooked to them, and for every day that a battery sits it loses 1% of its charge or less so 60 days = 40% charged. i've had a yellow top since 06

There are only 3 battery manufacturers in the U.S. East Penn Manufacturing (Deka Batteries), Exide Battery, and Interstate Batteries. All automotive batteries are made by one of these 3.

East Penn and Exide are both my customers. East Penn buys alot of there lead from the Exide smelter in Reading Pa. The EPA regulations make it to expensive to expand there smelting capabuilities at the Lyons Station Pa. location. That is how I understand it.

How about Trojan Battery in Santa Fe Springs, Calif?

A while back, Costco had some spiral-wrap 'Nascar' Optima-knock off's. I bought 2 for my truck. I had 3 replaced within 1 year and one within 2. The last one is still in there from early'05.

I put a walmart yellow thing in the Mustang when I bought it, coming up on 3 years. $65 bucks and 3 year replacement. I just can't see spending so much more for an Optima.

I forgot all about Trojan Batteries. That is pretty sad considering that all Tennant battery powered equipment uses Trojan Batteries. Do they make car batteries? I have only seen them in deep cycle applications.

So the Yellow Top is officially dead, won't hold a charge even after a long slow attempt.

Off to get a cheap one in the morning :)

Its been a long time since I was there, did an air system for the assembly room. They used to sponsor Indy cars...

What about Odyssey I used to run one in my MR2 they were so light yet they were a damn good batt.

That thing i put through hell and back and it always stood up to anything i threw at it.

I had one in the Mirage-12 GTP car, first one I saw. It laid on its side in a compartment you couldn't get it out of...easily...

I think i'm going to get an Interstate Megatron Plus. Its rated good and has a nice warranty and plenty of power for $50 less than an Optima.
