the problem with making more power in the future is that you'll probably have to upgrade to a stronger trans, which is probably going to have a 26 spline input shaft instead of the stock 10 spline which means you may need a new clutch down the road anyways. Basically don't do what I did and get something overkill because its more or less useless. Something in the 400tq range will probably suit you just fine. that's just my 2 cents.

If you get something overkill now without lots of power, you run the risk of wearing out your thrust bearing prematurely, among other issues.

But to answer your question, I've had no issues with my SPEC stage 2, or maybe it's a 2+, I haven't gotten it to skip a beat, my problem is the tires won't stop spinning ;p

400ft lbs of torque is nothing. I am running a stock clutch and it holds 420ft lbs all day not.

95% of people on the forums Over Clutch their car because they believe a "racing clutch" is needed when its not.

ok so back to the basis of this....what clutch do you guys recommend? lol.

OEM Sachs Clutch from O'rielly Auto.... $120 with a lifetime warranty.

Install the clutch and if it break, take it back and get a new one. cant beat lifetime warranty.

I went from a Centerforce D/F clutch Back to stock.... The centerforce clutch was the worst clutch in the worst. Engagement sucks and always changed with RPMs. Never will go centerforce again.

I had a Spec 3 on my 03 Cobra and it was fine. The pedal pressure was lighter than stock and it handled anything I threw at it. It did chatter a little when it was still cold but it wasn't anything I couldn't get used to.

I have a spec stage 2 and its way really more clutch than you need, plus the clutch pedal does get heavy in traffic.

i liked my spec stage 2, so i suggest spec pretty often. slight chatter in reverse, but I guess thats common in specs (plus, how often are you in reverse? lol.)

i have a centerforce now... so far I like it, but ive driven my car like, 8 feet.... so.... dont count on my recommendation there. lol.

what flywheel, transmission, driveshaft, and gear ratio are you slapping this to? any power adder on the 347?

It would still bother me, but I guess just reverse isn't too bad. Honestly I'm overall very pleased with the Spec stage 2, totally streetable clutch but shit will grab when you want it to.

+1 brotha. i was completely pleased with it. multiple passes on it, and only one hot spot on the flywheel roughly the size of a plum when i removed it and sold it. totally good to go. I'd use another one of their products, but i was curious about centerforce's funny weight driven gizmo. lol.

oh. lol. well it can all effect the type of clutch you should purchase. Ram, Spec, and Centerforce are three big names. Once you have your build a little more figured out, you can call their tech support and get a for-sure answer.

you'll find that all of the clutch companies have a couple failures to their name. centerforce seems to be hit or miss, but I really liked the cars that I've driven with the dual friction set up installed. I have a ford racing organic clutch, took about a 1000 miles to get it broken in, but I really enjoy it now. way more grip than I'll ever need, and the pedal pressure is just right. which for me is just a little bit heavier than stock.
