What other distributor, Ebay special, aftermarket or other vehicle will work with the 1994 302 motor? I doubt very much I am going to invest in a high dollar ignition MSD set up except for a new coil (MSD PN# 8227)

I had one of my flippen brain farts tonight and decided I wanted to polish the housing, went to remove the bottom piece of the cap and broke a screw off in one of the ears. Figured that would be an easy fix.... yeah right nothing on this car has been simple yet..... Spent about 2 1/2 hours polishing the housing, got it all pretty figured I would drill out that screw and get it ready to drop back in.... ONE SMALL TAP with my center punch and the darn ear broke right off of the housing.

Soooooooo now Im hoping you can help me out and tell me what distributors will work.

I'm going to just stick with Ford OEM dist for mine...I keep hearing reliability problems with a lot of aftermarket distributors.. but I am far from an expert or have a lot of first hand knowledge...my factory one has worked for 142k miles so far, must be pretty good.

yeah, but what I am asking is if there is another one that will work with our Mustangs? Or do I need to try and find a salvage yard that has one.

i've always just used to motorcraft replacement. We've had a few accels and even an MSD or two crap out on us after only having 2-3 nights on them, but the motorcrafts with a decent set of plug wires and a good cap seem to last forever.

Ok, gang...... Hate to do this but can you be a little more specific on what MSD, or ACCEL distributor you are running.... You know like a part # or something. I looked up the ACCEL in summit and the one they are showing is darn near $400.00... MSD was a few bucks cheaper at I think $398 or something.

Also....... What is happening with these ACCEL and MSD's that they are failing after "two nights at the track"?? Doesnt make any sense...... Thes are two BIG names in the industry and I just dont understand them making a product that is prone to failure as so many of you have said.

Stock works great unless you want some aftermarket bling for $400. 94/95's are different than any of the other years and are specific. I talked to you on ebay about my auction for my 94/95 Cobra dist.
Take care
