i have a chance to buy some used h&r super race springs part #5165099 from a shop in town here that specializes in mustangs and even road races them. the guy daryl who ownes the shop is the one who would be selling them to me. he hasn't quoted me a price yet but i was wondering what you guys would consider a good price for these springs? what are your guys experience with these springs? do you think they would be to stiff of a spring for my 94 gt vert? currently i only have bilstein shock/sturts, MM LCA and SFC. in the future i plan to add Panhard bar and Torque arm. thanks for any input you guys may have.

true but if i can get these locally for like $120-$150 i think that would be a pretty good price. plus can springs really go bad? i think that would only maybe wear out after excessive racing use or from carrying to much weight right?

I was just letting you know what they go for new. 150 is a great price. Aftermarket springs are uually stiffer then stock as well.

Oh, with the supers, it will feel like a log wagon. Find out what the stock spring's rates are and then
compare that to what the supers rates are. The stock fronts on mine are approx. 600. I've seen some
that have rates around 1060 lbs. That's too much for a DD. Be carefull. GT

The supers are a pretty damn stiff spring. This is more of a suspension forum topic and maybe Replicar can help you out.

I run them. Front and rear. No, they arent too much spring for the street. I daily drive the GT and they work great. Be warned though, they dont give you as much drop as supersports. But yes, i love the super race series springs. The white looks pretty cool too, lol

I have no experience with the H&R race springs but I have a feeling they're directed more for Mustangs that regularly see track use, i'd go with the Sports or Supersports for something you drive on the street the majority of the time. They'll give you a nicer ride and make your car look better doing it.

if you can get them for 150 or less, do it. Thats a good deal.
As for the springs themselves, they do carry a lot of rate (850+ lbs in front) but the only thing you have to do is make sure you have dampers strong enough to control them (which you do).
I have a set of the race springs in my 95 vert w/ Bilsteins and my car rides smooth and firm. Best way to describe it is the ride is very much like that of a german car. What happens is the dampers keep the wheels in better contact with the road.
The only time you get the "pogo stick" or really rough ride is when the car is underdampened. Thats the dampers being overrun by the spring rates.

Anyway, do it. You'll love it... Mind you, this is coming from someone with that setup. :thumb:
