well, finally after a million years the guy i was buying my car from got back from Ohio.. and he brought the title for my rusty old sexy car! It's a 69' mustang. has a 30 over 302 and alot of rat poop under the hood lol! The story behind it goes like this.

so this parents i bought the car from have two sons.. blah blah blah. in short one of them got pissed of and tried to run away from home in the mustang that had bald tires on it. and wrecked the car. it busted one of the shock towers. the dad got it towed home and so it sat just like that for about 10 years..

so now i bought it for $1500.. its alot more solid than it looks.. the only places that need metal work are the quarters door skins and the floor boards.. the surface just has a light surface rust over it. all the jambs and everywhere you would expect rust look great! so the plans are to make something "BA" to drive and slide every once in a while.. not doing a nice factory restore at all.. and i plan on slamming it..static, its the only way..

so lest have some fun!!!!

i got the engine pulled today, but my data plan ran out on my phone lol! so i wont be able to get pics up of what i'v done yet.. by the time i can i should have my harness tucked and have the bay prepped to paint. and btw there is going to be lots of sn95 stuff going on this thing so thats why i thought it'd be appropriate to post up here.. hope yall enjoy.

Should be an interesting build to follow. That is in scarey shape for a project. I hope it doesn't have some hidden suprises that you run into. My Mach project started off not looking bad until we got into it.

the floor board is pretty nasty, but i crawled that thing like a tick on a dog a$$ before i bought it lol! its a much more solid car than you would think. if you saw it in person you'd see. even the trunk is nice.. but the only place left to see is how bad it is when i pull the glass front and rear. but hey, its all for fun and its nothing but some extra welding. no biggie

+1 with what Jon said. Its always great to see an old Mustang that gets to live anothter day. A lot of these cars that have not yet been found are getting to that point of being to far gone of course depending on how long they have been sitting and where they are located. The inside barn finds are becoming more rare but are still out there and is more ideal then one thats been sitting out in the elements. Although you still cant avoid the rat poo issue.

Should be an awesome build, cant wait to see some progress pics. I like the mid to late 60's Mustangs. My first car I got was a 66 Mustang, not bad for a 17 yr old in H.S. And no it was not new I'm only in my 30's lol. Would love to have anohter one someday....to go along with a 93 Cobra.... Guess I need a bigger garage.

yay!! data plan reset.. anyway

I have been stupid busy lately, but spent a couple hours here and there over the past week on the mustang.

first off, i got my poop covered engine pulled, not quite sexy lol!

obviously leaving me with an empty-ish bay

IMAG0416 by pimpinx7, on Flickr

then i went to town ripping the old boy apart

IMAG0425 by pimpinx7, on Flickr

and i sanded the piss out of part of the bay and tested my color.. i chose rustoleum " smoke grey". i think its pretty spot on for your average battleship grey. i like it!

but im not painting it yet. i have a freak load of work to do in the bay first. there is a ton of rust where the battery tray was, and i think the tray might interfere with running big wheels up front, so i'll probably relocate the battery and replace the panel with sheet to give me some room. then i gotta do work on the shock towers to make stuff work..

and i got my first piece for the suspension. i got some sn95 spindles, and hub's!!

Hey, it's 8BYAV8 from drift live. Gotta show my support on this fantastic idea over here too. Hit up CJ's for a new battery apron. :D We sell lots of sheet metal there.

glad your bringing one back to life. I've always liked the look of the protouring cars. I kind of like the rusted all over look of the outside.
I'm also about to start a revival on a 66 coupe. but I won't be going as far as you. good luck with the build.
