What gauges should I get?

Water temp and oil press? I like the autometer digital gauges. You can get 'em in green -- the display will look kind of like your clock did.

What are some gauges that I can actually use?
i dont buy gauges just to buy gauges, and i dont have a built motor to NEED all sorts of gauges, but two that ive found that i would have a use for, is a narrowband (although id probably just not waste the money, and just get a wideband) and a fuel gauge (since the stock fuel gauges in all mustangs completely suck to begin with).

You don't need a built motor to NEED gauges, monitoring your engine is useful all of the time.

I am running Autometer Phantom water temp and oil pressure gauges and love them, they match perfect with white gauges.

So does it light up white or have a white face?

It has a white face like the stock cobra gauges, matches perfect in my opinion. At night with the lights on it lights up the color of whatever bulb you have in it, right now I have white led's so it's white, I am waiting on my blue led's to come in to make them blue to match the factory gauge cluster that I put led's into. I'll get some pics with it done.

Get a set of Autometer Phantom II mechanical water temperature and oil pressure gauges. White face. Awesome backlighting. Mechanical accuracy. Very useful gauges. Excellent reliability from a well-known company.

I think you could buy the bulbs or they might just be bulb covers, but they didn't come with mine.

Autometer sends you red and green bulb covers for the gauges that use incandescent bulbs.

Is it very difficult to wire up a speedo, tach and a fuel level guage? I recently bought a guage cluster that houses a quartet of autometer ultralites (tach/speedo/fuel level/voltometer) and I've put installing them off until I had some good advice first.
