what is the size of these bolts???

i was in the process of changing my clutch when i discovered that these two bolts were missing from the transmission crossmember. i guess u would discribe it as the part of the mount that attaches to the bottom side of the T-5 Tranny. i cant seem to find these bolts at the local auto stores. do any of u guys know where i can find them and what there sizes are?

check with randy over on www.mustangmotorworld.com and he should be able to tell you what size they are and if they are still available thru ford, he should also be able to get them for you.

cuz i think the guy before me painted it....dont really know....but it doesnt bother if its blue. but thanx ill check into that

Easy way to solve this problem is go buy a couple of various coarse thread bolts from the hardware store. One of them is going to fit.

Or, just throw the tranny in the back of your car/truck and take it with you to the hardware store.

so besides playing hit and miss with random bolts. there is no other way of finding out what size those bolts are?

I'd just go buy some of the most common "Ford" size bolts and hopefully you'll get the right one.

lol, i guess that would be a no. have you checked with Randy yet? (Randy = works in the parts dept. at Ford)

I was going to go out to the garage over the weekend, pull a bolt, and measure it - but it was cold and I hate the cold.

Most Ford bolts are 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, 5/8, 10mm, 13mm, 15mm, or 18mm - so it's very likely one of those. I would guess one of the bigger ones.

i checked with the local ford dealer here when i was out today. they had no clue what size it was. i think i might just go to a junk yard and pull one or just buy some random bolts either way. kinda depends if its rainy or not tomorrow lol
