Cant figure out what to save for next on my car. :dunno: I just ordered My 90/10 Lakewoods and have new drag springs to go in with them. Waiting for a day off so the car can go in for a shift kit this next week. Need to wait to see what kind of cam im going to have before I can order a new torque converter. And im going to do the heads and cam around the end of august when i get the check from my school. So what can i do in the mean time while i wait for that. I was thinking some Subframe connectors from MM, but after that im out of ideas. This is a DD getting ready to become a toy. Mods in sig. thanks for the idea guys.

That doesn't sound right..

$100 to do a shift kit..

My shift kit was $100 just for the kit and took me about 2 1/2 - 3 hours to do it, taking my time of course but it is not a quick install.

Good luck.

You don't need a kit with an AODE, there are some neato valves and springs you can install though, but 100 for a Jmodded vb installed is a good price.

I'd watch him and make sure he don't just pull your accumulator springs though, unless you know the guy.

I did an actual recalibration.

Five levels of shift firmness to choose from for the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts as well as a special overdrive shift calibration which fixes the characteristic and detrimental 3-4 synchronous bind with a AODE/4R70W trans.

The kit I got allows the trans hydraulics to be tuned to the engines torque characteristics too.

I understand that, however the AODE valvebody can be recalibrated just by drilling some holes as well. AKA, the "Jmod"

It can also be recalibrated by careful part's selection and drilling some holes.

A shift kit is convenience in a box, and there's nothing wrong with that at all.

I truly believe my Transgo shift kit had part to do with frying my tranny.

theres two sides to transgo shift kits. People who've had good experiences, and people who have had bad ones. I loved mine
