working on the GT i found an old crumbling vaccum line. autozone and kragen don't have a replacement, i fear its a dealer only part. it connects to the back of the plenum and to a part inside the passenger fender. its in two sections. the green ended parts is 901, the other 845.

i don't want to use standard hosing, since it looks like the piece is molded to fit, and because it really snakes its way into the engine bay. I also don't want it to melt since its so close to the engine.

not sure what that is. What year car?

My first guess was that if it went through the firwall on the passenger side that it conroled tha ac/heater blend door. It it that then you will not be able to get air out of any vent except on the windshield. It doesn't look like much, what would not fit at autozone? I had to buy some tubing a few weeks ago to run a line up to my vac gauge and got mine from autozone. The sides were alot thicker tot the point I didn't thin they would fit but the opening inside is ok.

Pretty sure all that plastic piece is, is the vac manifold where it just sends the low pressure vac of to the differnt places.

If you go to one of those shops they should have rolls that they could cut for something size specific. If it's vacuum tubing ask them about vacuum tubing, if it is gas/fuel tubing ask them for that. They should have something. I know my Advance Auto has them.

but it says gas/fuel on the tube

does it smell like fuel? I dare to say it is not a stock piece judging by the way it was cut and reconnect in the middle and put back together they may have use a fuel line for the vac possibly when they could not find the right vac hose as well.

again what year is this car?

found out that it is. the black part is the fuel vapor canister. standard fuel tubing works fine. If i where to buy the parts from ford, it would be 12 bucks for the first part, and 200 for the second. no, that wasn't a typo.

Just replace it with regular fuel line from parts store , should be about a dollar a foot , if you want to use that connection on the end use a small razor blade and trim off the old dried up rubber , but its not under any pressure so just putting rubber hose on it should work fine , if you want to you can barely snug a small hose clamp on both ends but even that is not needed
