What RPM to shift at the track

Hey guys i have a 96 GT with an 02 engine in it and was just wondering what everyone has found to be the best RPM at the track the shift at.

whenever you feel the power start dropping off.

my v6 I can run out to 6500 (I just try not to, dont want to cause problems) but the power never stops coming.

I don't know what the curve looks like on the 4.6's

Depends on the setup, but a mostly stock 4.6 PI motor seems to do best around 6k. You could try taking it to 6200 or so and seeing if it helps.

My car likes more RPM but its also blown so thats different.

i usually bounce it off of the rev limiter, so 6200 rpms?


jk, i like to shift at like 5800, i dont want to pick up rods and oil pan pieces off of the pavement.

lol, you wont have any problems with that motor, even revving it to 6500.

It only becomes a problem when your pushing 15 psi of boost at 6500 rpms lol
