Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help pick out what my next mods should be. I have a 94 cobra with full exhaust, 4:10 gears ,and a cold air intake. I was thinking of either porting my heads and doing a cam. Or should go with aftermarket heads. I want to make around 300 hundred rear wheel horsepower.

ported gt40s with some porting with valve spring upgrades and a cam would put you there for sure. mostly it depends on what your budget is

yeah, it depends on your budget.

if you want to get there cheap w/out NOS i would port the heads, upgrade valve springs, 1.7 RR's, and a steeda cam. then get a tune

what size TB and mass air do you have?

H/C/I and a good tune. should put you there very easy. or like stated before, port job and a cam, tune. cobra intakes will handle that power easily. or..... just throw some juice on it. problem solved

I personally don't think for the money porting the stock heads is going to get you where you want but it's a good alternative to expensive heads. Based on your mods though you could start tearing into the engine for heads/cam, or do some suspension work.

Thanks for the replies. I am definitely on a budget. I think I'm going to do the steeda number 19 cam and port my cobra intake. Also i was going to do some suspension mods like drag struts shocks, springs, and upper and lower control arms. Also I was think of maybe small shot of juice like 75 shot. But I am worried because i hear that the pistons in my motor are not very strong compared to the older 5.0s. I want build a mid to low 13 sec car am i going in the right direction.

I have a 94 gt with gt40 x heads gt40 intake and a e-cam made 290 h.p and 320 ft lbs. to the ground. fun car to drive around. as for your gas goes i have a 125 wet shot on that car and have ran through so many bottles i have lost count. The key to nitrous is the tune. your motor should handle up to about 150 with the popper tune. but tunning is the key to nitrous. dont just throw it on throw some pills in and start dogging it out. take it to a dyno and tune it. you will be much happier. my car made 390 hp and 450 ft lbs that is thanks to the smaller combustion chamber heads
