I hooked my fluke up to the battery it has 12.6 volts I did a max min and cranked the engine the min was 8.8 and max was 14 .6
I really wonder how low a voltage you can have during cranking and the pip signal still work and the engine start. does any one know and is these voltages average for a older battery

If the car is still starting fairly easy i wouldn't worry too much about it. If it's cranking slowly or something then it might not be a bad idea to replace it, it sucks getting stranded. If you know the battery is old it wouldn't hurt to get a new one.
