I bought my car with the money I saved up with graduation gifts and working etc etc, to be honest it wasnt even my first choice of a "sports car", or second choice for that matter. Hell, I didn't even want one until my uncle gave me a price on his. Needless to say since then I've been hooked. Some of the biggest sources of motivation for me come from seeing cars as sexy as riosnakes, as clean of an engine bay as opal's, and knowing that hell I can make my car look that good too!

But what keeps me going when crap doesn't go right, is this one buddy that I have, had a 86 gt, clean as shit, always ran around talking about how he had the fastest mustang in the group blah blah blah, so I got mine and his was slightly quicker. Threw on my intake and some other stuff, slowly started getting faster than him.

So he convinced his dad to buy him a 347...obviously it was quicker than my car, but I knew I could get my car to be faster, hci and a tune, and I beat him a few times before he stopped trying. Was going to be content with it until his dad went out and bought ANOTHER car, except this time a 98 Fobra, crate motor car w/ the hidden eaton on it. and nitrous. Needless to say my new goal is to wipe his ass up in my car that I built again =D

It always makes me giggle when i can hit the starter and it comes to life. Knowing that i did it also having a friend that helps with the big projects like dropping in the 347 and now were doing body work on his 73 Nova then paint. Then it's onto the body work on the Mustang a fresh paint job with a hidden surprise. We also are doing my Bike also.

I like the ability to be different.

I don't know anyone who has a v6 set up like mine, super six motorsports doesnt even sell pistons for a 30 over 4.2 lol.

I love working on, washing, just anything with this car. Sometimes, it's a real headache, but once I get her lowered back down, and I drive, its like a party in my pants :D

I have loved mustangs since I was a kid. Sure i catch crap for being a v6, o well. I'll get another with a v8 one day, mostly for the sound. I'll probably let my v6 be the faster one still ;p

it started out as somewhat a competitive thing between a friend of mine. he had a v6 camaro and i had a acura legend that could keep up with his car. he did somethings and i no longer could and wanted something sporty. went looking for a trans am but couldn't find one in my price range and stumbled upon the mustang. it beat his v6 camaro for a while then he bought a ls1 camaro. he was beating me then. i went looking for a supercharger and found my current stang which then was beating him. we both kind of didn't have money then and were at a stalemate, kind of lost touch after that.

now my motivation is mostly just to get to where i have a vision of it in my head. recognition definitely helps too.

I love my car. I mean working on cars in general makes me happy, and I wanna make mine go fast and loud but mostly I'm just attached to my car. It's weird but I enjoy spending time with it haha.

It's my first car and it's fun to drive and probably 1 of 5 mustangs in my town alone. I always love American muscle, the culture, the look, the sound. The sound is amazing and I love spending time with the car, I just waxed her with a bunch of waxes and it was worth every minute. And I like the look when some dumb kid tries to crack some joke about me being asian and when I get in my car, they have a look of disbelief.

Speed. I want a car that performs, looks, and acts like an actual well balanced sports car. I know it's a mustang, I'm well aware it will never be in the same class. But I want the perfect balance of handling, ride, power, and comfort without leaning towards any single type more so than another. Essentially trying to build the perfect driver, that gets attention and can move when required without having massive traction or handling problems. It's a tough chore needless to say, but it's by far my favorite car to date out of the 30+ I've had.

I actually wanted an LS1 powered car, drove 4 or 5 camaros, firebirds, etc.... didnt like them. felt like a big heavy boat with a crappy interior. drove a supercharged 5.0l mustang GT, and it was all over. bought my first mustang when I got stationed in Hawaii, got it pretty fast, wrecked it, then bought the 94gt that you guys know today. Always wanted a car that could handle really well, had good power, fuel injected, 5spd and looked decent. the Mustang fit the bill.

I have also met some really cool people by just owning a Mustang. Seems like there are more clubs and such for the Mustang, and the crowd is a little more chill than the Camaro/Fbody scene.

Love the responses here. I share views with most of you; something to be proud of, something to spend "me" time working on, and eh it's sorta fast...lol

Having a clean sn95. Most of them I see are trashed and not taken care of. And wanting to go fast and keep up with my friend's cars.

I remember when I was a little kid I used to look up to my cousin and his Chevelle and Grand National, eventually it turned into me wanting to build something better, but it had to be a Ford.

And sidenote, I lost the best car in high school with my restored 66 to a Range Rover. I went to school with superficial idiots.

My school didn't have a car show, I was the only real car nut there :/. My motivation is my car is my hobby lol. The adrenalin rush of drag racing and going all out is the best. After actually having a good racing season this year, I'm sadly hooked. My goals in HS were to have a 13 second car, now I want a 12 second car, and that will soon turn into 11 second car... It's an addicting drug!
