I've been searching but cant find where I can find an EGR hose. Since I now have a Cobra upper with a 1" spacer on my GT, the EGR hose no longer reaches the headers. does anyone know where I can find some kind of high temp flexible tubing that I can use? I know latemodelresto sells some adapters but it looks like the hose needs to be re routed differently to fint my longtubes and back up the the cobra upper. can anyone help?

Not trying to steal the thread, but what exactly is that 'thing' in the left corner of the picture?

people will tell you that they delete the EGR for performance, but the EGR doesnt work when you are at WOT. the purpose of the EGR is to recirculate exhaust gases back into the intake. there are a few reasons for this, main one being that because the exhaust gases are no longer combustable, it cant ignite and therefore doesnt let the cylinder temp get too hot. the other purpose of the EGR is to reduce emissions, which is why you cant legally remove it in an emissions oriented state. people believe that if they remove the EGR, it will no longer allow the exhaust gases into the engine, which means it will be using nothing but clean air and fuel, which is 100% true. BUT, here's the kicker: like i said earlier, the EGR does not operate when you are at WOT, and remains closed, which is the exact same as removing it. so for all those who want that extra performance, unless you really want max performance when you arent even going full throttle (???), it does you no good except to run your cylinder temps higher during daily driving.

5.0resto should be able to hook you up. Check the EGR delete sticky at the top of this section, you can read about all the pro's/con's of getting rid of it.

Paul, it's only stupid if you do it to increase HP because it wont, but if you are doing a motor swap and getting a tune anyways I don't think it's stupid to toss it because that thing is ugly as sin and it cleans up the engine bay IMO. Now not to thread jack but the above is my situation I have a tuned chip for my new setup with the EGR turned off so do I just need the block off plate and a capped bolt for my headers to finish? What tubes do I need to block off?

Why would Ford spend all that time and money putting it in if it wasn't for a purpose!

Can I get an answer to the question... please. The main reson I'm doing it is because the tube is broken on mine and I dont have a smog pump so I welded it for a temp fix till I could get rid of it, I don't want to fix it, I'd rather toss it. I'm sure Ford did it for a good reason. My car is going to be for the strip and maybe a few cruises not a dd. Thanks for your input though. :icon_salut:

I would get a tune and have the EGR turned off. Otherwise theres a 50/50 chance your car will run like crap. Ive read on here that peaple get away with taking it off and it runs fine. Others (including myself) took it off and the car ran like crap and the check engine light came on.

That's an adapter for a taller intake.

Cj pony parts also sells the same hose!

Mine was taken off before I got the Cobra, runs fine, idles fine. And its a hell of a lot easier getting the spark plugs and wires.

see if a muffler shop can fab you one up.
We don't carry any pipe that small, or have anything to that bend with, plus it has a flex joint. He'd be better off going to the junk yard or getting it new.

he can't use a stock replacement because of the 1" spacer.
My BBK headers came with a tube without the flex joint. Unfortunately it didn't fit correctly and had do be modified to fit along with cutting up the oem tube.
Point being, You might be able to make it your self if you have a flaring tool.

That Adapter i think might work though it is basically an extension.
