I'm thinking about getting GPS for the Durango. I've been looking at the Tom Tom ones but I'm not sure which model is the best (if there are better versions). Also, if there are better brands than Tom Tom. :dunno:

If you have one. Which model/brand is it? Why do you like it?

I use a Garmin Nuvi 360 & I love it...so easy to use the menu...no need for a manual. It makes exploring around even my home area much more fun as I now take a lot more side roads & don't worry about it.

As for comparisons to a map...maps don't list the restaurants & gas stations as you travel...can't usually direct you to a nearby hotel either. I find it a TON safer listening to the GPS voice telling me to turn on "Main St" versus referring to a map!! Especially in heavy traffic & unfamiliar surroundings.

Tom Toms are good & very popular...Garmin is number one, usually a bit more money but lately there have been awesome sale prices. I feel Garmin has a bit more quality & ease of use...either one will be fine.

LOL my TomTom cost me 180 taxes in. I've already saved that money in gas by not getting lost in Toronto, with the Gas prices the way they are

I love it. You can plug it into your home computer and get even more options (I now know where every Tim Horton's is in Canada)

It's very simple to use, and I guarantee once you have one, you'll be convincing all of your friends to go buy one as well

yeah VZ Navigator is pretty cool, works great too. A lot of phones can do that now...

I have a Garmin Nuvi200w, i like the Garmin layout and it was the cheapest unit i could get in widescreen, I love the widescreen, definitely worth it.

I will stick with the map.

You are behind the times!! Garmin GPS at Costco $149.00 also Circuit City for less than $200... you need a better search engine.

You can't even compare maps to a GPS system, the only similar thing about them is they show u the roads. Not even a close comparison.

I use TomTom. I love being able to go around traffic. Or taking a dif route and just seeing a different area.

I did not do a search. That is what they cost the last time I looked at them. If they come down less than $100.00 I might think about it.

I use my noggin, no reason in having GPS for me, I travel alot, but I know from VA and tennsse all the way texas like the back of my hand from all the trips we drove (mostly me and dad), junkyard huntin, racing, etc. Unless its extremely remote, I can find my way.
