my car has 98,000 miles. only summer driven and it gets pretty hot sometimes. Ive used 5W30 convetional quaker state for the last 4 years and i wanna swith to synthetic. should i use a regualr synthetic or a high mileage one? my car burns a little oil not too bad though. also what weight of synthetic do i need??
ROYAL PURPLE 530 in the winter, 1030 in the summer. if its good enough for chip foose its good enough for me
+1 I have used mobile one in the past and when I did my motor swap and saw how my motor looked from the oil I was really un-happy with mobile one. Since I have used Royal Purple and will post pictures up when I do my 3rd motor swap. :santa_cheesy:
I use 10w40 Valvoline MaxLife, mostly from my dad's recommendation with his '94 stang and other cars. He's a big valvoline oil guy I guess. He was a mechanic for 10 years at a Cadillac dealership in socal and big small block ford guy (289 and 302 in his '64 Comet Cyclone back in 70's) I burn a little less oil with 40wt compared to 30wt. I change every 3000-3500 miles. Chris
i use motorcraft synthetic blend in the stang and havoline in the beast (79 f 150). motorcraft is supposed to be a great oil especially for the price
Does that Motorcraft Synthetic oil have a name btw [like Zetec etc] or is it that simple? Just that i have a trade account at my local Ford dealers [amongst others].
I use Mobil 1 10w-30 for old high millage motors and Mobil 1 5w-30 for low millage motors can't go wrong with that
