Which oil will work best for my car

I was using royal purple 10w 30 and purolator oil filters and noticed some smoking occasionally under hard acceleration! I recently switched over to Valvoline high mileage 10w 30 synthetic blend and motorcraft oil filter's the smoking is gone!

So Im guessing no one is using 20w-50??? Whats so special about the anti drain back filters?
I have an oil change due next month and was planning on using a fram filter but I heard those are no good for these cars something about oil pressure or something.

Now im planning on doing Mobil1 10w30 With a Mobil1 filter...

BTW I never used 20w50 I was just throwing it out there

Hmm, I am surprised to see how many here run synthetic.

To be honest, I use conventional Valvoline 10w-30. That is the recommended viscosity for the 5.0. Seeing as it is really just a truck motor... I believe conventional is the way to go.

Also, I agreee with Matt94GT, Wix or Motorcraft filter. K&N filter = epic waste of money. Along with royal purple. Sorry.

Wanna get technical calling it a "truck motor", the 302 windsor block has been in Ford cars since the late 60s...

Amsoil all the way even mobile 1 tried copying them but I'm not going to preach just go to the website and judge for yourself.
