I have a 98 GT and ive been noticing that when i let it idle for a couple minutes and then rev up it seems to spit up some white smoke. Im thinking it might be valve seals (hopefully not). The car has about 130,000 miles on it and as far as i know no valvetrain related work has been done to it. The thing that confuses me the most is that it doesnt spit out white smoke at first start up ever. It also has a BBK h pipe, no cats, and some 40 series. What do you think?

white smoke means coolant.
black is fuel
blue is oil
sometimes oil burning looks white but has a blueish tint to it.
Is your coolant or oil level going down?

Haven't checked it to be honest. I just figure if it's some sort of coolant leak it would be a blown head gasket or something of that nature but I'm noticing a decrease in performance or anything. Ill check the level though and notify you you guys on the status. Thank you for your advice.

Open up the rad cap (at a cooler temperature obviously) and check for tiny bubbles surfacing. That would be a headgasket leak.

when my valve seals were shot, i got a healthy dose of blue smoke right on start but it went away after a couple of seconds. white smoke is coolant. check your oil, if its milky you have a bhg. also do a compression, and or a leakdown test.

it even smokes some on warm days, but thats b/c we have no cats.

Cold weather can be tricky i think.

White smoke is normal during the winter most of the time

My car blows a little white smoke on the first start up in the morning but goes away once its warmed up. The colder it is outsidde the more smoke you see, I live in Florida so it never gets that bad.
